Job summary

Walmart is hiring a Senior General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join the Downey team. You will maintain and repair a wide range of Walmart facilities and food equipment, using plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and MHE skills. You will document work orders and respond promptly to emergencies to ensure safety and efficiency.

The role emphasizes training Store Associates, adherence to safety protocols, and delivering high-quality repairs that reduce downtime and improve customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license with a clean record and ability to pass MVR.
• Trade certification and 5 years in one of the listed trades, or 7 years experience.
• 1+ year experience with Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint.
• Can lift up to 75 lbs and move on ladders; comfortable with heights.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets across crafts using tools to complete jobs.
• Use work order management system to receive and document repair activities for Stores.

Minimum Qualifications

• 18 years or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
• Vocational or Technical certification and 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade, or 7 years' experience in one of these trades.
• 1 year's experience using intermediate-level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Can lift up to 75 lbs.
• Can Move up and down ladders frequently
• Comfortable working at heights frequently

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets by utilizing multiple craft skills (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
• Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair Work Orders to support Stores and Store associates and document repair activities
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
• Inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
• Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely

Competitive Compensation

Minimum Qualifications

• Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 3 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• Option 2: 6 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls, Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
