Qualifications

• Ability and willingness to work in BSL-2 laboratories and follow SOPs.
• Good oral and written communication skills; able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support execution of laboratory experiments in cell biology and related disciplines.
• Independently perform routine experiments with guidance from senior scientists.
• Operate lab equipment (pipettes, balances, pH meters, microtomes, microscopes, centrifuges, plate readers).
• Document data clearly and perform data review for quality control.
• Communicate progress and results to senior scientists.
• Maintain lab equipment and facilities following quality frameworks (ISO 9001:2015 / 21 CFR Part 58 GLP).
• Follow safety and security guidelines; some domestic travel possible.

As a Senior Technician, you will be joining a dynamic team performing cutting edge research across multiple disciplines. Operating in a collaborative environment, you will provide invaluable support to a large government contract following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and project-specific guidance to maintain cell lines, prepare tissue and histology samples, and perform research, technical evaluations, and/or assessments of biologics, biological mechanisms, or biological properties.

This full-time position is contingent upon contract award and will be located in San Antonio, TX .

Responsibilities

• Support execution of laboratory experiments rooted in cell biology, anatomy, or related biological disciplines.
• Independently perform routine experiments in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and/or work instructions with guidance from senior scientists
• Operate lab equipment to include pipetting devices, balances, pH meters, microtomes, microscopes, centrifuges, plate readers, etc.
• Document experimental data clearly and consistently. Compile data and perform technical and quality control review of routine experimental data
• Communicate progress and results to senior scientists
• Actively participate in maintenance of laboratory equipment and facilities within structured quality frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001:2015 or 21 CFR Part 58 GLP)
• Follow established safety and security guidelines
• Some domestic travel is possible but not anticipated.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in the life sciences with a background in any biological science (e.g., bacteriology, virology, molecular biology, biochemistry, etc.)
• Professional experience performing cell and tissue culture and/or histology
• Ability and willingness to work in biological safety level 2 (BSL-2) laboratories
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to understand and follow written procedures
• The ability to work in a team environment
• Sole U.S. citizenship, with the ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances as a condition of employment
• Sufficiently medically fit to work in the laboratory to perform assigned duties including the ability to wear personal protection equipment (PPE), lift up to 50 pounds, and work in the proximity of hazardous/infectious materials
• Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within laboratory quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001:2015, ISO17025, or 21 CFR Part 58 GLP)
• Interest and ability to learn and apply new skills in multiple subject areas
• Current or previously held security clearance
