Pay Range: $102,300.00 - $163,700.00
Overview
Responsible for leading solution design and associated documentation. Drives technical solution design initiatives, while maintaining strong credibility with cross‑functional partners, particularly engineering and enterprise architecture. Ensures solutions align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational standards, guides junior architects, and contributes across all phases of system design by upholding architectural principles, fostering innovation, and supporting both business and technical needs throughout the project lifecycle.
What you will do:
- Own solution technical designs for medium-to-high complexity features.
- Produce and maintain architecture artifacts (HLDs, current vs. target state, context diagrams, sequence diagrams, etc.).
- Evaluate design trade‑offs (latency vs. throughput, synchronous vs. async calls).
- Drive reference implementations and proof‑of‑concepts (POCs).
- Govern design reviews; capture and track technical risks, assumptions, and decisions.
- Identify and validate non‑functional requirements (NFR).
- Create and enforce enterprise standards (identity, logging, API standards, cloud patterns).
- Drive projects with evolving technical artifacts to continuously maintain the current‑state ecosystem with EA oversight.
- Curate an internal knowledge base of capabilities, systems, processes, interdependencies, and underlying design via the EA tool.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Evolve architecture principles, standards, best practices, and enforce through Architecture Review Board and projects.
- Lead HLD and other solution/technical artifact template maintenance.
- Ensure alignment between enterprise, solution, and technical architecture layers.
- Ensure scalability, performance, and resilience of critical systems.
- Drive technology innovation by applying security, compliance, and risk management standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- Five to seven years’ experience in software engineering with 4+ years of proven delivery of complex, distributed systems via architecture design and support.
- Proficient with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and AI/ML enablement.
- Expert in API management, microservices, and distributed systems architecture.
- Proficient with Salesforce, FACETS, ServiceNow, Matillion, Apigee, Snowflake, and data warehousing tools/practices.
- Experience with data architecture, analytics platforms, and data governance.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to engineering with good diagramming hygiene for mutual understanding.
- Receptive/adaptive to alternative design approaches presented by engineering, while being accountable for the final design.
- Proficient with best‑practice software development, integration, and configuration management methodologies and project management office reporting.
- Coachable, adaptable, and willing to learn and teach modern technologies/processes.
- Drive cost‑efficient, reliable, and scalable design using cloud‑native patterns.
- Maintain a record of implementing large‑scale digital transformation initiatives.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for inter‑level audiences.
- Influence without authority and deliver consensus.
- Comfortable in agile or waterfall methodologies.
Extras
- Master’s degree in a technical discipline such as Information Systems Management, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Experience with multiple platforms, operating systems, RDBMS, and integrated development environments.
- Two or more years in the healthcare/insurance industry.
