Job summary

Velaura is seeking a Senior Technical Recruiter – Engineering to build the engineering organization behind our AI compute platforms.

The role will own recruiting across hardware and software engineering disciplines, from sourcing to offer and close, partnering with engineering leaders to map needs into effective searches and candidate pipelines. A hands-on recruiter with a network in semiconductor/AI infrastructure is preferred.

Role Overview

We are looking for aSenior Technical Recruiter – Engineeringto help build the engineering organization behind Velaura’s next generation of AI compute platforms.

This role will own recruiting across a broad range of highly technical engineering disciplines spanningcomputer and SoC architecture, RTL design, design verification, physical design, emulation, system software, firmware, packaging, board design and silicon bring-up.

You will work directly with engineering leaders and hiring managers to understand the technical capabilities required, identify exceptional candidates, and drive searches from initial talent mapping and sourcing through offer and close.

The ideal candidate has recruited deeply technical engineering talent in semiconductors, AI compute, systems software, or adjacent industries and is comfortable engaging with candidates whose backgrounds span the full hardware/software stack.

This is a hands-on recruiting role. You will be expected to build networks, source passive candidates, understand the technical landscape, and help Velaura compete for some of the most sought-after engineering talent in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle recruiting for engineering positions across Velaura, from search strategy and sourcing through interview management, offer, and close.
• Partner closely with engineering executives, architects, technical leaders, and hiring managers to understand organizational needs and translate them into effective recruiting strategies.
• Recruit across silicon and SoC engineering disciplines including computer and SoC architecture, microarchitecture, RTL design, design verification, performance modeling, physical design, emulation, and silicon bring-up.
• Recruit systems and AI software engineers across compilers, model lowering and optimization, runtime software, drivers, SDKs, profiling and performance tools, model migration and porting tools, and related developer infrastructure.
• Build talent pipelines across robotics and Physical AI software, including ROS/ROS 2 integration, perception and robotics infrastructure, platform integration, and reference applications.
• Proactively identify and engage high-caliber passive candidates through direct sourcing, professional networks, referrals, conferences, technical communities, and other creative channels.
• Drive a high-quality candidate experience from initial outreach through interview, offer, and onboarding.
• Partner with hiring teams to establish effective interview processes, evaluation criteria, and hiring plans.
• Represent Velaura and our engineering mission effectively in a highly competitive technical talent market.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience recruiting for CPU, GPU, NPU, AI accelerator, networking, automotive, robotics, or other complex SoC organizations.
• Familiarity with semiconductor engineering terminology and development flows spanning architecture through production silicon.
• Experience recruiting compiler and ML systems engineers familiar with technologies such as LLVM, MLIR, TVM, XLA, IREE, PyTorch compilation, ONNX, or related ecosystems.
• Experience recruiting engineers working on AI inference runtimes, SDKs, profiling and performance tools, model migration, or developer tooling.
• Familiarity with robotics and Physical AI ecosystems, including ROS/ROS 2, autonomous systems, perception pipelines, and edge AI.
• Experience recruiting senior and highly specialized talent, including Principal/Staff engineers, architects, technical leads, and engineering leaders.
• Existing networks within the semiconductor, AI infrastructure, systems software, or robotics communities.
• Experience helping scale an engineering organization at a startup or rapidly growing technology company.

Experience developing recruiting operations, processes, analytics, and sourcing strategies in addition to executing searches directly

$150,000 - $300,000 a year
