Job summary

Nectar Social in Palo Alto is seeking a Senior Technical Recruiter to architect and execute our technical talent strategy for engineering and product teams. You’ll own end-to-end recruiting, build rigorous interview loops, and partner with founders to attract world-class candidates.

You will drive sourcing across AI/ML, software engineering, and technical PM roles, manage the candidate journey, and help Nectar establish a premier engineering destination in the AI space.

The Role

We're looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter to build and execute the talent strategy for our core Engineering and Product teams. Reporting directly to the Head of Talent, you’ll partner closely with our founders, and Director of Engineering, to attract, engage, and hire world-class technical talent.

In this role, you will be the primary architect of our technical talent pipeline. You’ll help define how we evaluate technical talent, build rigorous engineering interview loops, and position Nectar as a premier engineering destination in the AI space.

What You'll Be Doing

• Drive End-to-End Technical Hiring: Own full-cycle recruiting for engineering, AI/ML, product management, and technical infrastructure roles.


• Partner with Technical Leadership: Work directly with our ex‑Meta engineering founders and tech leads to define role requirements, craft job specifications, and map target technical talent pools.


• Proactive & Creative Sourcing: Deep-dive into technical communities, open-source networks, GitHub, research papers, and alumni networks to engage passive, top-tier engineering talent.


• Optimize Technical Evaluation: Partner with engineering leads to refine code reviews, system design loops, and practical architecture assessments to maintain a high quality bar while reducing friction.


• Data-Driven Pipeline Management: Track candidate funnel metrics (outreach acceptance, interview pass rates, offer acceptance rates) to continuously optimize the technical recruiting engine.


• Elevate the Candidate Experience: Deliver a fast, high-touch, and technically articulate candidate journey from initial outreach through onboarding.


• Enhance Tech Employer Brand: Represent Nectar in the engineering community, highlighting our AI stack, technical challenges, and engineering culture.

What We're Looking For

• 5-7+ years of technical recruiting experience, with a proven track record of sourcing and closing high-bar Software Engineers, AI/ML Engineers, and Technical Product Managers.


• Deep Technical Literacy: Ability to confidently discuss modern tech stacks, distributed systems, AI/LLM infrastructure, and engineering trade-offs with senior candidates.


• High Talent Bar: Strong judgment in evaluating engineering craftsmanship, problem-solving ability, and culture-add without compromising on speed.


• Proven Closing Ability: Demonstrated success competing against major tech companies and high-growth AI startups for top engineering talent.


• Startup DNA: Highly resourceful, adaptable, low-ego, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-autonomy environment.


• Location: In-person collaboration with the team in Palo Alto.

Bonus Points

• Prior experience recruiting within AI/ML, developer tools, distributed systems, or high-scale data platform domains.


• An active network of senior engineering and product talent within the Silicon Valley startup ecosystem.


• Experience integrating modern AI sourcing tools, code-repo analytics, or automated candidate engagement workflows.

Compensation Range: $150K - $180K
