Job summary

Nuro is hiring a recruiter to own full-cycle technical recruiting for ML, autonomy, and systems roles. You will partner with engineering leaders to shape role scopes, interview plans, and evaluation criteria while building strong candidate pipelines and improving hiring processes.

You will use ATS tools and AI-powered recruiting tech to attract top talent across engineering functions, managing multiple searches concurrently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• In-house technical recruiting experience for ML, robotics, or infrastructure roles (≥2 years).
• Demonstrated ability to build candidate pipelines via outbound sourcing.
• Experience partnering with engineering leaders on hiring strategy and role definition.
• Experience managing 10+ concurrent open searches.

About the RoleThis Recruiting team hires world-class talent across Machine Learning, Data Infrastructure, Autonomy, and Systems Engineering. In this role, you'll own full-cycle recruiting for these functions and partner directly with engineering leaders to build the teams driving Nuro's AI-first strategy.

About the Work

• Own full-cycle technical recruiting: sourcing strategy, pipeline generation, interview coordination, and offer negotiation/closing.


• Partner with engineering leaders across Autonomy, Ml Research, Systems Engineering and Software Engineering to define role scopes, build interview plans, and set evaluation criteria.


• Track recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, pipeline conversion, source effectiveness) and use them to identify bottlenecks and improve processes.


• Run structured technical and behavioral evaluations in partnership with hiring panels to ensure consistent, defensible hiring decisions.


• Build and maintain sourcing pipelines using tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, and outbound sourcing platforms; help evaluate and implement new recruiting tools/workflows.

About You

• In-house technical recruiting experience at talent dense technology companies, with at least 2 years recruiting for ML, robotics, or infrastructure engineering roles.


• Demonstrated experience building candidate pipelines through direct/outbound sourcing (not solely inbound or agency-sourced).


• Experience partnering directly with engineering directors/VPs on hiring strategy and role definition.


• Experience managing 10+ concurrent open searches.


• Working knowledge of an ATS (Greenhouse, Lever, or similar) for pipeline tracking and reporting.


• Practical fluency with AI-powered recruiting tools.

Bonus Points

• Recruiting experience specific to AI/ML research, autonomy, or robotics engineering roles.


• Experience recruiting for director-level or above engineering leadership roles.


• Direct experience with Greenhouse ATS.

At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected base pay range is between $132,300 and $198,450 for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.
