Job summary

O’Reilly Auto Parts in Springfield, MO is seeking a Senior Project Manager (Technical) to lead end-to-end delivery of complex technology initiatives spanning eCommerce, supply chain, store systems, and enterprise infrastructure.

The role requires strong cross-functional leadership, hands-on project management, and the ability to align engineering, product, and business teams around clear outcomes in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in any field; a technical discipline is a plus.
5+ years of project management experience leading complex technology projects.
Experience with Agile and Waterfall/hybrid delivery approaches.
Knowledge of software development lifecycle and IT concepts including security and networking.
Proficiency with PM tools such as Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, Azure DevOps.
Strong written and verbal communication; ability to influence without authority.
Experience managing risks, dependencies, and cross-team escalations.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end delivery of complex technology projects, from initiation to closure.
Develop detailed project plans: scope, schedules, budgets, resources, dependencies.
Drive cross-functional execution across engineering, infrastructure, QA, security, data, and architecture.
Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies; escalate with clarity.
Report project health with concise status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
Manage project budgets and financial forecasting; monitor actuals vs. plan.
