Job summary

Disney Experiences Technology is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager (Project Hire) to identify, plan, and coordinate related projects within a program and manage interdependencies in support of business strategies.

You will lead project schedule, scope, quality, cost, and performance risks while collaborating with cross-discipline technology teams, leadership, and business partners to understand direction and budget.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical project/program management with technical teams
• Understanding of Cloud, APIs, services, and database technologies
• Influence and negotiation, communication, professional maturity
• Experience with Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall and blending styles
• DevOps and testing concepts (CI/CD, TDD)
• Coaching/mentoring teams on PM practices
• Understanding architectural/technical aspects of projects
• Experience managing large project budgets
• Proficiency with listed tools (MS Office, Jira, Tableau, PowerBI)

Team Description

The Disney Cruise Line Navigator Engineering team builds and supports the mobile applications and backend services that power onboard guest experiences across the Disney Cruise Line fleet. Working alongside software engineers, architects, and quality engineers, Agile delivery leaders and Scrum Masters help teams operate effectively by facilitating Agile processes, improving delivery workflows, removing obstacles, and promoting continuous improvement to ensure successful outcomes for both the business and our guests.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Technical ProjectManager (Project Hire)you willidentify,planand coordinate a set of related projects within a program and manage their interdependencies in support of specific business strategies. You will also apply project management principles and techniques to lead project schedule, scope, quality,costand performance risks. You will work closely with cross-discipline technology teams,leadershipand business partners to understand technical and business direction,milestonesand budget, as well as provide thought leadership to project management team.

Responsibilities

• Drives execution and delivery of technical projects through full delivery life cycle ensuringproject isdeliveredtimelyandon-budget.
• Works with engineering teams, including Software Engineers, Product Managers, Architects, and leadership toestablishprocesses across all program areas that will ensure success on strategically prioritized projects and improve efficiency.
• Defines,optimizes, and manages Agile project management ceremonies and processes for large project teams. Manage hardware/software procurement of assigned projects
• Develops a program plancomprisedof parallel projects and multiple project managers that collectively produce work that has significant business impact
• Monitors & adjusts programplanto respond to unplanned changes, ensuring program is progressing to meet business goals
• Creates governance practices and provides senior-level leadership oversight and control for the program
• Implements fiscal practices and controls, authorizing, recording, and reporting on program expenditures & ROI
• Develops infrastructure needed to support the program

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum of 5+ years of technical project/program management experience working with technical teams developing enterprise class solutions
• Understanding of Cloud, APIs, services, database technologies, technologist roles and responsibilities, capabilities & platform dependencies, software development lifecycle,engineeringand/or product development
• Influence and negotiation, communication, professional maturity & organizational savvy, relationship building, dependency mapping
• Hands-on experience with practices such as Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall as well as extensive experience with pragmatic blending of styles tofacilitatecollaboration and delivery
• Deep understanding of Agile technical practices,DevOpsand testing concepts (CI/CD, TDD)
• Significant experiencein coaching and mentoring teams on project management practices including Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall
• Excellent ability to understand architectural and technical aspects of a project
• Experience managing large project budgets
• Experience with tools such as: Microsoftsuite, Keynote, Smartsheet,MyPPM(Clarity),MyJira, Tableau, andPowerBI.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• Experience in supporting large-scale, global software development programs
• Agile CertificationsieCSM; ACP; CPO;SAFe;LeSS

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study and/or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in Orlando, FL is $123,100 - $165,100. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

• A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
