Job description

As an IT Infrastructure & Network Technical Project Manager at TEL, you will lead the planning and execution of complex infrastructure projects across the organization. This role will focus on projects such as server installations, data center and hardware upgrades, network installations and refreshes, and audio-visual (AV) deployments. You will work closely with Network, Infrastructure, Security, Facilities, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, securely, on schedule, within budget, and with minimal disruption to business operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop and manage detailed project plans, including scope, schedules, milestones, dependencies, deliverables, budgets, and resource requirements. Lead infrastructure projects from initial planning and site readiness through installation, testing, cutover, and project closeout. Manage projects involving server installations, hardware refreshes and upgrades, network equipment installations, cabling, and AV systems. Track project progress, identify risks and issues, and develop appropriate mitigation and recovery plans. Coordinate implementation and cutover activities to minimize impact to business operations.
  • Infrastructure & Network Project Coordination: Partner with Network, Server/Infrastructure, Security, Facilities, and other technical teams to coordinate project requirements and implementation activities. Coordinate installation and replacement of servers, switches, routers, wireless infrastructure, racks, cabling, and related hardware. Manage office, facility, conference room, and site infrastructure deployments, including network and AV installations. Coordinate site readiness requirements such as power, space, cabling, equipment delivery, installation access, and technical dependencies. Ensure technical teams complete appropriate validation and operational handoff before project closure.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary project‑management liaison between IT technical teams, business stakeholders, Facilities, vendors, contractors, and leadership. Communicate project status, milestones, risks, issues, decisions, and potential roadblocks to stakeholders. Facilitate project meetings and maintain clear project documentation, schedules, action items, and decision records. Coordinate with onsite and remote stakeholders across multiple locations as required.
  • Vendor and Resource Management: Coordinate internal resources, vendors, contractors, and service providers to meet project schedules. Manage vendor deliverables, installation schedules, dependencies, and project commitments. Track project budgets, equipment procurement, expenses, and resource requirements. Coordinate hardware delivery, installation, testing, and acceptance activities.
  • Risk, Quality, and Change Management: Identify infrastructure implementation risks and proactively develop mitigation plans. Ensure infrastructure changes follow established IT security, change‑management, and operational standards. Coordinate testing and validation of installed hardware, network connectivity, and AV solutions. Manage project scope and change requests to maintain schedule and budget expectations. Coordinate implementation and cutover plans to minimize service interruptions and business impact. Ensure appropriate documentation and operational handoff are completed before project closure.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve IT infrastructure project planning, deployment, and implementation processes. Develop and promote repeatable project‑management practices for IT infrastructure deployments. Share lessons learned and best practices with other project managers and technical teams. Support improvements to project reporting, risk management, resource planning, and execution.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience managing technical IT projects, preferably involving IT infrastructure, networking, data centers, hardware deployments, or facilities technology.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects involving server installations, hardware upgrades, network installations or refreshes, and/or AV deployments.
  • Experience coordinating technical engineers, vendors, contractors, Facilities teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure project dependencies, including hardware procurement, site readiness, cabling, power, networking, installation, testing, and cutover.
  • Experience managing multiple technical projects concurrently across multiple locations.
  • Strong project planning, risk management, communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency with project‑management and work‑tracking tools such as Monday, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
  • PMP or other relevant project‑management certification is preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise network, server, data center, facilities infrastructure, or AV technologies is a plus.
