Job summary

Neya is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee on-time, on-budget delivery of engineering solutions across software, systems, autonomy, hardware, and testing teams. The role requires proactive leadership, accountability, and clear customer coordination to define program needs and drive outcomes.

You will manage direct labor, earned value, and program schedules while coordinating cross-functional teams and communicating progress to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Robotics, or related field; and equivalent practical experience
  • At least 5 years of experience with project management, controlling budgets, and resource and task management
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the robotics or autonomy domain areas
  • Experience with software development lifecycles, delivery, and integration cycle
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite, software configuration tools, and management systems
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience with medium to large projects
  • Strong ability to engage and manage tasking of cross-functional teams of varying skills and experience
  • Superb written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to identify gaps, remove obstacles, prioritize, multitask, work within deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams across software, systems, autonomy, hardware, operations, and testing to achieve program milestones
  • Remove obstacles, improve communication, manage schedule gaps, escalate issues, and drive progress
  • Manage direct labor, profit, and earned value aligned to financial tracking requirements
  • Oversee full lifecycle of robotics programs and lead task execution within functional areas
  • Manage project financials including tracking, forecasting, and reporting
  • Lead cross-functional projects spanning multiple teams and initiatives
  • Facilitate iteration planning, reviews, and meetings with technical teams and customers
  • Guide teams in estimating work and time estimates
  • Ensure successful iteration execution and maintain communication with management, team, and customers
  • Support the team in coordinating and tracking projects and producing detailed reports
  • Be accountable for timely project completion and delivery
  • Analyze and update existing work plans and schedules using project management software
  • Coordinate project staff rotations during international travel, including documentation, approvals, and scheduling

Neya is a leader in advanced robotics developing off-road autonomy for both commercial and defense customers. Our deep domain expertise spans semi-autonomy, autonomy, perception, and mission planning; all of which support a wide range of DoD and commercial thrust areas. Our main center of gravity is in the Pittsburgh area.

We are looking for a senior Project Manager to manage and ensure successful, on-time, on-budget delivery of engineering solutions. You must be a leader that is well-organized and dedicated to committing effective relationships with the teams and customers you collaborate with. This successful individual should be proactive, accountable and able to navigate ambiguity while driving the process across teams and priorities. You will work closely with customers and other stakeholders to understand goals and objectives, develop program needs and manage a direct team. You will Identify, capture, and develop and define program needs.

This position is in person/hybrid in our Pittsburgh, PAoffice.

What You’ll Do
  • Strong collaboration and management across our software, systems, autonomy, hardware, operations, and testing teams in order to achieve program-level activities and milestones
  • Remove obstacles to drive clarity and progress, identify gaps in communication or schedule, manage issue escalations and provide support to teams balancing competing priorities, and drive results proactively
  • Management of direct labor, profit, and earned value across project timelines aligning to corporate financial tracking requirements.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of robotics programs and lead the execution of tasks within functional areas
  • Manage project financials to include tracking, forecasting, and reporting of project financial status
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and accelerate cross-team projects spanning multiple functional teams and cross functional initiatives
  • Facilitates iteration planning, reviews, and meetings, scope/requirement discussions with technical teams and customers
  • Guides team in estimating work and facilitates time estimation
  • Ensures successful iteration execution and communicates with management, team, and customers
  • Support the team in coordinating and tracking various projects and providing detailed reports
  • Accountable for supporting the team in timely project completion and delivery
  • Analyzes and updates existing and active work plans and schedules using project management software
  • Coordinate project staff rotations during international travel, including documentation, approvals, and scheduling.
What You’ll Need
  • This position requires use of information that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Non-U.S. persons selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to export-restricted information. The ITAR/EAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Robotics, or related field; and equivalent practical experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the robotics or autonomy domain areas. Knowledge of general autonomous system software and hardware, including perception, simulation methods and hardware
  • Experience with software development lifecycles, delivery, and integration cycle
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite, software configuration tools, and management systems
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience with medium to large projects
  • Strong ability to engage and manage tasking of cross-functional teams of varying skills and experience
  • Superb written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to identify gaps, remove obstacles, prioritize, multitask, work within deadlines
How to Stand Out
  • PMP certification is strongly preferred
  • Experience in the mining industry or with mining-related autonomous systems is preferred.
  • Willing to travel within the US and internationally at least 15% of the year
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor junior team members
  • Some experience writing production-quality object-oriented code in C++, using a git-based workflow in a Linux environment is preferred
  • Previous experience in agile methodology preferred
