Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager Lead for Digital Assets and Tooling in the US. You will own the roadmap and strategy for the asset-and-infrastructure tooling portfolio, lead cross-functional programs, and drive executive communications.

You will define priorities, allocate resources, and maintain metrics to maximize impact. You will build governance, manage multi-team programs, and leverage AI to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness at scale across Google

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in program management.
  • 7 years of experience in a leadership role with direct reports.
  • Advanced degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience managing cross-functional/team projects.
  • Knowledge of technical principles including programming languages, data structures, and debugging.
  • Knowledge in information technology, software, and digital asset development.
  • Ability to define structural logic and balance technical trade-offs (e.g., performance, reliability, cost).
  • Ability to drive results across an organization and build capabilities across various levels within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the roadmap and strategy for Google’s portfolio of first-party tools supporting the asset and infrastructure layer, including resource allocation.
  • Lead a governance structure that drives executive decision-making via a digital assets council, and lead internal communications with first-party customers.
  • Manage the portfolio of software and tooling programs. Prioritize work, manage resources, and ensure appropriate metrics and people are in place to drive high performance and organizational impact.
  • Identify and implement change management opportunities to increase program velocity and overall impact across multiple teams.
  • Use AI to drive productivity, creativity, and innovation across the team, creating conditions for continuous experimentation and learning.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.

The team's mission is to optimize the global operations of assets and tooling which enables reliability and cost effectiveness at scale. Key areas of focus include financial reporting, unit-rate calculations and spend economics, contract processing and payments, as well as oversight of Google's tooling strategy related to Google's portfolio of infrastructure assets. The team will be responsible for establishing the overall strategy for Google's development and oversight of tools, processes and resources that are critical for the management of Google assets, including land, energy, and network.
