Job description

We're seeking an experienced DC Transformation Programme Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of a major technology infrastructure modernization initiative. You will serve as the principal on-site leadership contact, accountable for programme outcomes, stakeholder alignment, budget performance, and successful execution of a complex, multi-workstream infrastructure transition affecting 180+ personnel across multiple geographic locations.

This is a hands‑on leadership role combining executive stakeholder management with operational programme governance. You'll drive programme discipline, manage cross‑functional delivery teams, and ensure predictable outcomes in a highly regulated, time‑critical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the single point of escalation and decision-making authority for all programme-related matters
  • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with C‑suite and senior operational stakeholders
  • Lead executive governance forums, steering committees, and programme review sessions
  • Communicate programme status, risks, and decision requirements to senior leadership with clarity and confidence
  • Manage high‑impact escalations and maintain stakeholder confidence through transparent, solutions‑oriented engagement
Delivery Execution & Governance
  • Own end-to-end programme scope, schedule, budget, and quality outcomes
  • Establish and enforce enterprise‑grade programme governance, including integrated scheduling, dependency management, and phase‑gate readiness criteria
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive risk registers and mitigation strategies; facilitate regular risk forums with stakeholders
  • Drive cutover planning, readiness validation, and controlled transition execution to minimize operational disruption
  • Ensure post‑transition operational stability through handover protocols, monitoring readiness, and stabilization support
  • Direct a leadership team of 8‑12 senior programme managers overseeing distinct workstreams
  • Set performance expectations, accountability frameworks, and quality standards across delivery teams
  • Build and sustain cross‑functional collaboration across infrastructure, technology, operations, and application domains
  • Manage team composition, capacity planning, and workforce alignment (mix of onsite, nearshore, and remote resources)
  • Mentor senior programme leaders and develop succession capability within the team
  • Own P&L accountability for a $M+ programme budget
  • Track CAPEX/OPEX spend, milestone financial acceptance, and budget variance management
  • Oversee vendor performance, contract milestones, and commercial governance across multiple technology partners
  • Ensure spend visibility through executive dashboards and real‑time financial reporting
  • Drive cost optimization and commercial value delivery without compromising quality or timeline
Operational & Technical Oversight
  • Understand and govern technical readiness across infrastructure domains (facilities, network, compute, data center, storage, security)
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and operational controls are embedded throughout programme execution
  • Oversee environment build‑out, network modernization, platform migrations, and application readiness
  • Drive transition activities including operational handover, monitoring setup, and knowledge transfer
  • Validate post‑transition operational performance and resolve stabilization issues
Required Qualifications & Experience
Experience
  • 15+ years in programme management, data center transformation, or technology modernization initiatives
  • Demonstrated leadership of large-scale infrastructure or platform transition programmes ($50M+ budget scale)
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-workstream technology programmes in regulated industries (financial services, banking, or equivalent)
  • Track record of on-site, client-facing programme leadership in demanding environments
  • Experience with distributed team leadership across multiple geographic locations and time zones
  • Hands‑on expertise in programme governance frameworks, risk management methodologies, and executive reporting
Leadership Capability
  • Proven ability to lead and develop senior programme managers and cross‑functional leaders
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence C‑suite stakeholders
  • Demonstrated skill in building trust, managing escalations, and driving decisions in ambiguous situations
  • Ability to balance operational delivery urgency with people care and sustainable team performance
Technical & Programme Management Acumen
  • Deep understanding of programme management lifecycle, integrated scheduling, and dependency orchestration
  • Familiarity with infrastructure technology domains: network, compute, storage, facilities, security
  • Comfort with programme management toolsets (MS Project, ServiceNow, enterprise PPM platforms) and financial tracking systems
  • Understanding of cloud, hybrid, and modernization architecture approaches
Certifications & Credentials
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) required
  • ITIL Foundation or equivalent IT service management certification preferred
  • Relevant infrastructure, cloud, or enterprise architecture certifications a plus
