Cenith Innovations is a mission-driven defense technology company specializing in the development and employment of agentic AI solutions to solve niche Department of War problems. We bring the speed, ingenuity, and execution mindset of commercial tech to the military domain. We are building systems to enable advanced autonomy, embedded AI compute, multi-sensor fusion, and ruggedized hardware engineered for contested and denied environments. Our products span UAS and UGV platforms, edge-compute devices, intelligent sensors, and integrated hardware solutions that enable warfighters to operate faster, safer, and with greater precision. At Cenith, you will work at the intersection of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, drones, autonomy, and AI-driven mission systems, shaping real hardware capable of being fielded rapidly instead of following the typical lengthy acquisition timeline.

The Team

This role will serve as one of the first members of Cenith’s Devices Product Organization, helping establish the foundation of how our hardware platforms are conceived, built, and delivered. You will join a small, highly technical group composed of senior hardware engineers, embedded software developers, and autonomy researchers who work side by side to push the boundaries of agentic AI, advanced drones, and a wide range of mission-ready hardware solutions. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering leads as we design, build, and integrate the various subsystems that make up Cenith’s devices portfolio. This includes embedded compute modules, power systems, mechanical assemblies, sensor payloads, drone-mounted components, and other specialized hardware devices beyond unmanned platforms. This is an opportunity to shape not only the products but also the culture, processes, and technical direction of the Devices organization from the ground up.

What You Will Do
  • Define and own the product vision and roadmap for Cenith’s hardware devices portfolio, including embedded compute units, sensor payloads, subsystems for drones and UGVs, and other mission‑critical hardware.
  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and drone engineering teams to translate mission requirements into detailed product specifications, engineering constraints, and system‑level designs.
  • Evaluate complex design tradeoffs including power systems, thermal management, enclosure design, sensor selection, mechanical integration, and embedded compute capabilities.
  • Drive hardware prototyping cycles, ensuring that mechanical, electrical, and firmware deliverables align with timelines and mission outcomes.
  • Collaborate with autonomy and AI teams to ensure hardware is optimized for on‑device inference, multi‑sensor fusion, and subsystem integration.
  • Support field testing of drones, unmanned systems, and hardware‑based devices, collect operator feedback, and convert field insights into actionable product improvements.
  • Work closely with program management, business development, Department of War stakeholders, and mission users to align product strategy with operational requirements and future capability growth.
  • Track emerging technologies related to drones, embedded systems, sensors, AI edge compute, and ruggedized hardware devices to inform long‑term product planning.
Required Qualifications
  • 8 or more years of product management experience involving complex hardware systems, drone platforms, embedded devices, or mission‑critical mechanical and electrical hardware.
  • Strong background or hands‑on experience in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, drones, or embedded systems development.
  • Proven track record of bringing hardware devices such as compute modules, sensors, drone subsystems, payloads, or enclosures from concept through prototyping, testing, and production readiness.
  • High technical fluency and comfort working directly with engineers on mechanical layouts, electrical schematics, power systems, thermal constraints, and subsystem integration.
  • Ability to convert mission and operator needs into well‑structured product plans and requirements.
  • Experience leading iterative hardware development cycles including prototyping, testing, refinement, and field integration.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with engineers, autonomy researchers, program managers, and military stakeholders.
  • Must be a United States Person which includes citizens and lawful permanent residents due to export control and Department of War program requirements.
  • Willingness to travel for field testing, integration events, customer engagement, and on‑site engineering collaboration.
  • Valid driver’s license and a reliable personal vehicle required for access to regional test sites and field locations that do not have public transportation.
  • Ability to work full‑time and exclusively onsite at Cenith’s Bend, Oregon development facility.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with drones, UAS, UGVs, or other unmanned systems, and electromechanical or embedded hardware components.
  • Experience with low Size, Weight and Power mechanical design, ruggedized enclosures, environmental sealing, or MIL‑STD hardware qualification.
  • Familiarity with edge AI compute modules including Jetson, AI accelerators, or custom embedded processor architectures.
  • Hands‑on experience with sensors including LiDAR, EO and IR cameras, radar systems, gimbals, servos, actuators, or other hardware commonly used in fielded systems.
  • Understanding of Department of Defense acquisition pathways, technical documentation, and hardware fielding processes.
  • Experience with UAS flight controllers, autonomy frameworks, or subsystem‑level integration.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or comparable experience supporting cost modeling and productization strategy.
What We Offer

At Cenith Innovations, you will help shape and field the next generation of intelligent autonomous devices and mission‑focused hardware systems. We offer competitive compensation, a comprehensive benefits package, a retirement program with a competitive company matching amount, paid time off, and a culture centered around rapid iteration, technical depth, and meaningful mission impact.
