Job summary

Edwards Lifesciences Gruppe seeks a data product manager to own the data product and platform strategy for a defined domain. You will partner with data engineers and scientists to shape pipelines, schemas, and semantic definitions, driving outcomes and adoption across downstream consumers.

You will write comprehensive data product requirements, including SLAs, quality metrics, retention, and consent definitions, ensuring ALCOA+ data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of hands-on experience managing projects of increasing complexity.
• Experience owning a data product, data platform, or advanced analytics domain with defined consumers, data contracts, and SLAs.
• Experience in data or advanced analytics product management.
• Proven ability to write detailed data product requirements, including schema specifications, pipeline requirements, SLAs, data quality, and semantic definitions.

Responsibilities

• Own data product and data platform strategy and roadmap for a defined data domain.
• Own the research roadmap for a modeling area in partnership with Data Scientists.
• Personally write detailed data product requirements, including schema, pipelines, SLAs, data quality, and semantic definitions.
• Make prioritization calls: curated vs. raw data, semantic layer depth, dashboards vs. embedded analytics.
• Measure data product outcomes: adoption, accuracy, decision impact, dashboard engagement.
• Partner with Data Engineers and Data Scientists as a peer evaluating pipelines and data models.
• Author data product requirements with ALCOA+ integrity, retention, lineage, and consent contracts.

How you’ll make an impact

Domain data products and data platform.

Own data product and data platform strategy and roadmap for a single data domain (a set of related datasets, a semantic layer or pipeline area, or a dashboard portfolio).

Research roadmap.

Own the research roadmap for a defined modeling area or clinical problem cluster, in partnership with Data Scientists.

Requirements, written yourself.

Personally write detailed data product and data platform requirements: schema specifications, pipeline requirements, SLAs, data quality requirements, and semantic definitions.

Prioritization tradeoffs.

Own the calls within your domain: curated vs. raw data, semantic layer depth, dashboard vs. embedded analytics.

Outcomes, measured.

Measure data product and data platform outcomes (adoption by downstream consumers, accuracy, decision impact, dashboard engagement).

Technical partnership.

Partner closely with Data Engineers and Data Scientists as a peer who reads SQL, evaluates pipelines, argues data models, and participates in architecture reviews.

Design control.

Author data product requirements, including ALCOA+ integrity, retention, lineage, and consent contracts, that stand as software/data design inputs under 21 CFR 820.30(c).

What you’ll need (Required)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field and 8 years of hands-on experience managing projects of increasing complexity, or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria.
• Demonstrated experience owning a data product, data platform, or advanced analytics domain with defined consumers, data contracts, and service levels.
• Experience in data or advanced analytics product management.
• Proven ability to write detailed data product requirements, including schema specifications, pipeline requirements, service level agreements, data quality requirements, and semantic definitions.

What else we look for (Preferred)

• Experience with regulated or clinical data, ALCOA+ integrity, and data governance (access, consent, retention).
• Familiarity with feature stores, semantic layers, and BI or analytics tooling.
• Exposure to clinical modeling and the research to productization pipeline.

For California, the base pay range for this position is $121,000 to $171,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
