Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) seeks a technical editor to join the Technical Editing and Communications group. You will be embedded with a Laboratory organization to ensure clear, compliant documentation for facilities and operations, and provide counsel to leaders, managers, and staff.

You will edit for technical accuracy and readability, support procedures for the Weapons Production directorate, and help maintain documentation standards and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in English, journalism, or related field with at least 5 years editing experience.
  • Experience with technical editing and writing for complex concepts.
  • Ability to obtain a Q clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and substantive edits to ensure accuracy and readability of technical documentation.
  • Embed with a Laboratory organization and collaborate with technical experts to produce compliant procedures.
  • Provide communications counsel and services to leaders, managers, and staff.
  • Lead process improvements and template development for documentation workflows.
