Role Description

The Senior Technical Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Los Angeles, CA. This role is responsible for leading the technical design process from concept through production, ensuring all garments meet fit, construction, and quality standards for mens and boys product lines. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing detailed technical packages, conducting fittings, communicating fit and construction corrections, and partnering with design, production, and vendors to resolve technical issues. The Senior Technical Designer will review patterns, evaluate samples, and provide clear specifications to support consistency across styles and seasons. This role also mentors junior technical designers, supports process improvements, and contributes to maintaining brand standards in fit and quality.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Technical Design skills, including creation of tech packs, measurement specs, and fit comments.
• Candidates should possess solid Garment Construction and Fitting experience, with the ability to identify and correct fit and quality issues on mens and boys apparel.
• Candidates should possess Pattern Making knowledge, including understanding of blocks, grading, and pattern adjustments for different fabrications.
• Candidates should possess Architecture-related spatial and structural thinking skills that support accurate garment proportion and construction planning.
• Extensive experience in apparel technical design for mens or boys categories, preferably in a branded or retail environment.
• Proficiency with industry tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, PLM systems, pattern software) and strong Excel skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple styles and seasons in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant education in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Apparel Production, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Salary: $85k+ based on experience, PTO, Health Insurance Kaiser (Partial coverage)
