Senior Technical Consultant – Geoscience / Geohazards

Location: North America–based (United States or Canada), Preferred locations: Alaska; Houston, TX; Calgary, AB. The position will be based in a Worley office in Houston, TX; Calgary, AB; or Alaska, with a hybrid work schedule.

Purpose of the Role

As a Senior Technical Consultant – Geoscience / Geohazards, you will deliver applied geohazard interpretation and technical inputs supporting large linear and infrastructure projects. The role focuses on identification and interpretation of geohazards, evaluation of uncertainty, and integration of findings into geotechnical and engineering workflows to support design and constructability decisions. This is a delivery‑focused role requiring independence, strong technical judgment, and close collaboration with geotechnical and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret geohazards affecting infrastructure projects (e.g., slope stability, seismic hazards, ground instability)
  • Evaluate data sufficiency and uncertainty drivers across available datasets
  • Integrate geohazard findings into routing, investigation planning, and design workflows
  • Support development of investigation scopes aligned to hazard reduction objectives
  • Interpret field and laboratory data in collaboration with geotechnical engineers
  • Prepare customer‑ready technical reports, memoranda, figures, and supporting documentation
  • Participate in technical reviews and address internal and external comments
  • Support field activities as required during execution phases
Required Qualifications
  • Degree in Geoscience, Geology, Geological Engineering, or related discipline
  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience delivering applied geohazard or geoscience scopes
  • Demonstrated capability in geohazard interpretation for infrastructure projects
  • Experience producing customer‑ready deliverables with limited supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Eligibility for professional registration where applicable

Equivalent combinations of experience and demonstrated capability will be considered.

Travel / Field Expectations

Periodic travel and short‑term field assignments may be required depending on project needs.
