Job summary

Toyota North America’s TRD division seeks a seasoned Technical Buyer to bridge engineering needs with a global supplier base. You will procure precision machined engine components, manage international supplier relationships, and coordinate cross‑functional teams across engineering, planning, and quality.

Strong MRP/ERP and negotiating skills are essential. The role emphasizes cost and lead-time reduction, NPI support, and strict adherence to purchasing policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related technical discipline.
• 7–10 years of purchasing experience in a precision machining or advanced manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing suppliers producing complex machined components with tight tolerances.
• Hands‑on familiarity with MRP/ERP systems (Syspro, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and tolerancing.
• Experience coordinating international procurement and logistics.
• Experience in supplier evaluation and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate, and procure precision machined components for TRD engine programs.
• Manage supplier relationships domestically and internationally.
• Collaborate with engineering, planning, and quality teams on technical requirements.
• Maintain purchase orders, supplier contracts, and pricing agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate logistics and international shipping to ensure on-time delivery.
• Support NPI by aligning sourcing plans with engineering milestones.
• Ensure compliance with TRD purchasing policies and confidentiality.
