Job summary

Genius Road, LLC is seeking a VERY Senior Technical Business Analyst to lead data governance initiatives across the organization. You will drive clarity, document requirements, and align business needs with technical solutions while collaborating with BAs and PMs in an Agile environment.

The role requires deep SQL skills (Oracle/SQL Server, MongoDB a plus), experience with MDM tools, and strong communication with stakeholders. Dallas-based, hybrid work with 3-4 days onsite.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with management and stakeholders to gather, validate, and document business and technical requirements
• Lead and facilitate requirements-gathering sessions; capture meeting minutes and action items
• Translate business needs into detailed technical documentation to support Agile development efforts
• Partner with technical teams to develop and align Technical Design Documents with business goals
• Maintain and support Data Lineage documentation to ensure governance and compliance
• Run and analyze SQL queries to validate data and support troubleshooting
• Coordinate release activities, draft structured release communications, and ensure readiness
• Track progress and manage tasks in JIRA, proactively addressing issues and ensuring timely updates
• Collaborate with other BAs and maintain strong working relationships with PMs and cross-functional teams
• Contribute to multiple ongoing initiatives, adjusting focus as business priorities evolve

Senior Technical Business Analyst – Data Governance

Contract Length: 12 months + potential extension

Location: Dallas, Texas – Hybrid (3-4 days onsite downtown Dallas)

**Applicants must already be local to the Dallas area**

This position does not support third-party submissions, subcontracting, or Corp-to-Corp (C2C) arrangements.

We are seeking a VERY Senior Technical Business Analyst to support a variety of data-driven projects across the organization. The ideal candidate will work across departments, driving clarity, documentation, and alignment between business stakeholders and technical teams while working closely with other BAs and PMs, while playing a key role in Agile project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field
• 7+ years of IT project experience
• 5+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, withdemonstrated success in data-centric and Agile project environments
• Strong hands-on SQL skills (Oracle and SQL Server required; MongoDB a plus)
• Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) tools
• Exposure to cloud platforms and SaaS-based solutions is a plus
• Proven success in data driven projects, especially those requiring collaboration between business and technical teams
• Experience creating and maintaining:
  • Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
  • Technical Design Documents (TDDs)
  • Data Lineage Documentation
  • Process flows using Visio
• Proficiency with Agile methodologies and tools (JIRA required)
• Must have exceptional communication skills and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Highly detail-oriented, with a proactive and collaborative mindset
