Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming seeks a Senior Technical Accountant/Accounting Manager to lead a four-person accounting team and own the monthly close with accuracy and timeliness. You will produce financial statements and support schedules for lenders, auditors, and internal stakeholders, while researching complex transactions and updating policies.

You will monitor new accounting guidance, support SOX controls, and collaborate with FP&A and Treasury to meet covenant reporting needs, driving process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA certification required.
• Minimum five years of progressive accounting experience, including prior supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of four accounting professionals and manage workload.
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close calendar.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
• Prepare financial statements for lenders, auditors, and management.
• Research and document accounting positions on complex transactions.
