Job summary

Busey in Leawood, KS seeks a Tax Specialist III to coordinate tax reporting for fiduciary accounts, trusts and individuals, and to mentor junior staff. You will work with Wealth Advisors on complex tax matters and maintain tax preparation systems.

Requires a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance/Economics, CPA/EA, 3–5 years in tax prep or accounting, and strong communication with proficiency in Microsoft Office; Smartsheet preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent designation required.
• 3–5 years' exp. in prior tax preparation or accounting required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the coordination of quarterly estimated tax payments and year-end taxes for fiduciary accounts.
• Analyze tax information, input data, and review return output.
• Prepare tax returns for trust, fiduciary, charitable entities, and individuals.
• Manage e‑filing of various tax returns and track filing status.
• Provide ongoing tax training to Wealth Advisors and associates.
• Mentor Tax Specialist I and II.
• Work with Advisors and Middle Office to ensure new trusts/estates are set up correctly for tax reporting.
