Magnolia Tax Services is seeking a Senior Tax Reviewer to inspect business and individual returns, converse directly with clients, and serve as a technical anchor for our preparer team. This remote, full-time role welcomes candidates in Wisconsin or Illinois.

We are a Milwaukee-based tax planning and bookkeeping firm serving 800+ clients, focusing on proactive planning and client education throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Active CPA or Enrolled Agent, or CPA candidate with substantial review experience.
• 4+ years preparing business returns, including 2 seasons reviewing 1120-S and 1065.
• Strong knowledge of S-corp/partnership basis, and Schedule E rental activity.
• Confident speaking with clients by phone and video, explaining results clearly.
• Comfortable working remotely from Wisconsin or Illinois, with CST hours.

Responsabilités

• Review Forms 1120-S, 1065, and 1040 (with Schedules C and E) before clients.
• Prepare complex returns when needed, especially multi-entity S-corp and partnerships.
• Explain results and open items in client-facing calls, providing planning opportunities.
• Respond to IRS and state notices and support the team on audits.
• Provide clear written review notes to help preparers improve.
• Identify planning opportunities and share with firm leadership.
• Refine review checklists and TaxDome workflows during and after tax season.
