Whale, Mallozzi, & Padgett PC is a growing accounting firm in New York, seeking a Senior Tax Manager with extensive public accounting experience to lead engagements and ensure client satisfaction. The role emphasizes leadership, tax planning, and high-quality compliance across complex individual and business returns.

Responsibilities include mentoring junior staff, reviewing complex tax filings, and delivering strategic advice while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• CPA is preferable but not required.
• 7+ years of experience in the tax department of a public accounting firm.
• At least 2 years of detailed tax review experience.
• Experience with Ultratax, Quickbooks, and Microsoft products is preferable.

Responsabilités

• Lead, train, and mentor junior staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Prepare and review complex business tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations.
• Provide expert tax review and planning services for complex individual returns (1040s), including employee stock option reporting, multi-state taxation, Schedule C, Single Member LLC, and complex K-1s and brokerage statements.
• Utilize tax software tools such as Ultratax and Quickbooks.
• Develop and maintain outstanding client relationships through exceptional service and communication.
• Manage multiple tax engagements, ensuring projects are completed accurately and on time.
• Identify tax issues and planning opportunities, providing strategic advice to clients.
• Represent the firm professionally in all client interactions, with strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Maintain strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills with keen attention to detail.
• Assist partners with reviewing tax returns.
