Qualifications

• Active CPA license and interest in partnership and building a practice.

Responsibilities

• Review complex real estate partnership returns, including allocations, capital accounts and K-1s.
• Advise real estate owners and investors on acquisitions, dispositions, 1031 exchanges and depreciation planning.
• Review individual returns for high-net-worth and entertainment industry clients.
• Serve as the senior client contact on a book of closely held flow-through entities.
• Take ownership of high-level review so the partners can focus on growth.
• Train and develop managers, seniors and staff, including an offshore support team.

SENIOR TAX MANAGER (REAL ESTATE) | PARTNER TRACK

Remote (United States) | Full Time

A real estate-focused CPA firm in Southern California is hiring a Senior Tax Manager with a clear path to partner. A longtime partner is retiring, and this hire is part of the succession plan. The firm is small enough that you will know every partner and shape how the practice runs.

Leadership is young and progressive, and most of the team already works remotely. Expect to visit the office two to three times a year.

Responsibilities

• Review complex real estate partnership returns, including allocations, capital accounts and K-1s


• Advise real estate owners and investors on acquisitions, dispositions, 1031 exchanges and depreciation planning


• Review individual returns for high-net-worth and entertainment industry clients


• Serve as the senior client contact on a book of closely held flow-through entities


• Take ownership of high-level review so the partners can focus on growth


• Train and develop managers, seniors and staff, including an offshore support team

Qualifications

• 8+ years of public accounting tax experience with a strong real estate and flow-through focus


• Currently a Senior Manager or Director, or a Manager ready for the step up


• High-net-worth individual experience; entertainment industry clients a plus


• California tax experience preferred


• Background at a regional or local firm a strong fit


• Active CPA license


• Interest in partnership and in building a practice

Compensation

$165,000-$220,000 (DOE) + Bonus
