Qualifications

Job Details

Responsibilities

• Review complex individual (1040) tax returns for high-net-worth clients with $5M–$50M+ in assets
• Oversee multi-state filings for S-Corps, partnerships, and LLCs with entities operating across 5–10 states
• Coordinate with internal advisors on integrated wealth strategies across real estate, retirement, and business holdings
• Provide strategic and creative tax planning for closely held businesses, estates, and family structures
• Prepare and review complex federal, multi-state, and local tax filings for individuals, trusts, and entities
• Serve as a trusted advisor to HNW individuals and their investments, entities, etc.
• Collaborate across investment, legal, and accounting teams to integrate tax strategies into broader financial plans
• Monitor tax law developments and proactively identify opportunities or areas of risk
• Drive process improvements and maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
• Communicate clearly and effectively with clients on tax matters and implications
• Maintain thorough documentation in line with best practices and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience
• 5+ years of experience in tax compliance and planning, preferably with HNW clients or within a family office environment
• CPA license required
• Preferred Master’s in Taxation or related
• Experience reviewing complex tax returns for individuals and multi-state pass-through entities. Strong multi-state tax knowledge (5–10 states preferred)
• Experience with trust, estate, and partnership taxation
• High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable with onsite presence in Tempe, AZ for the first 90 days; hybrid thereafter (3 days/week)
