StaffBright is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager for our client in Novi, MI, a global publicly traded automotive manufacturing organization. This position will serve as a key tax resource for the company's Americas operations and requires someone who is highly hands-on with U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Prepare and review U.S. federal, state, and local income tax returns, sales & use tax returns, and other business tax filings.
- Manage tax compliance activities across the company's Americas operations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and tax compliance best practices.
- Maintain tax accounting records and calculate the effective tax rate.
- Prepare and oversee tax-related reports for financial, regulatory, and other reporting requirements.
- Prepare and review tax depreciation and fixed asset reports used in tax return preparation.
- Participate in calculating quarterly estimated tax payments.
- Respond to tax audit documentation requests and support audit activities.
- Manage relationships, timelines, and deliverables with external tax consulting providers.
- Monitor material and transactional flows to improve tax and duty efficiency.
- Support international goods transactions to ensure compliance with applicable international trade regulations and trade agreements.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance.
- Experience preparing and reviewing corporate income tax returns and supporting calculations.
- Knowledge of sales & use tax, tax accounting, fixed assets, depreciation, and estimated tax payments.
- Automotive manufacturing experience required
- Experience supporting tax audits and maintaining tax documentation and internal controls.
- Experience within a multi-entity or complex corporate environment is preferred.
- Automotive or manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
- CPA and/or an advanced tax degree is preferred.
- Annual Bonus: Up to 20%
