Job summary

Venteon Finance in the Metro Detroit, MI area seeks a Senior Tax Manager to serve as a technical leader within the corporate tax function, overseeing income tax compliance, tax provision review, strategic tax planning, and process improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have extensive corporate tax experience, CPA, and strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills to partner with executive leadership and external advisors on tax strategy and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or Master’s in Tax preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive corporate tax experience in public accounting and/or industry.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax compliance, ASC 740, and financial reporting.
• Experience with international tax, tax planning, audits, and tax technology systems.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills with a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Review federal, state, and international tax compliance and oversee ASC 740 tax provision reporting.
• Provide technical tax guidance, support strategic tax planning, and assist with M&A activities.
• Coordinate audits, tax notices, and relationships with external advisors.
• Lead tax process improvements, technology initiatives, and compliance workflow management.
• Partner with Accounting, Finance, and executive leadership to ensure accurate reporting and effective tax strategies.
