Job summary

The Florida Department of Revenue’s General Tax Administration program seeks a Tax Auditor III to conduct independent refund audits and complex tax audits, advise on accounting findings, and support the Refund Sub-Process to ensure accurate processing of refund claims.

The incumbent will train auditors, participate in on-the-job instruction, and coordinate workload within the team; strong knowledge of accounting, fraud indicators, and proficiency in Word and Excel are essential.

Qualifications

• Currently employed with a State Personnel System agency or department.
• Four years of accounting or auditing experience at a paraprofessional level.
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex audits of refunds and various Florida taxes; coordinate work and prepare reports.
• Review accounting records and financial information to support refund processing and outcomes.
• Train auditors and provide on-the-job instruction to staff.
