Job description

About the job Senior Tax & Advisory Accountant

Arkansas Talent Group is partnering with a highly respected, Boutique Advisory Group in Central Arkansas to identify a Senior Tax & Advisory Accountant.

This is an opportunity for a tax professional who enjoys technical work but wants to operate closer to the client, the advisor, and the broader financial picture. Rather than working in a traditional high-volume CPA-firm environment, this individual will support a select group of high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational families, trusts, and closely held entities through sophisticated family-offices. This is a firm that is on the cutting edge technology of AI, so excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about AI and finding easier solutions.

The right person will be energized by variety, intellectual challenge, and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with clients whose financial lives require thoughtful coordination across tax, estate, investment, and business matters. This role offers meaningful exposure to complex tax situations, a collaborative advisory environment, and a pace that prioritizes quality, responsiveness, and trusted counsel over simply processing returns.

What you'll do:

  • Prepare and review complex federal and state income tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, estates, partnerships, LLCs, and other closely held entities
  • Partner closely with internal advisors and outside professionals to ensure tax planning is coordinated with clients' estate, investment, business, charitable, and personal financial objectives
  • Identify tax-planning opportunities throughout the year rather than limiting work to a traditional tax-season cycle
  • Assist with estimated tax projections, extension calculations, tax notices, withholding analysis, and other proactive client planning needs
  • Research complex tax issues and communicate findings clearly to both clients and internal stakeholders
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for a select client base, building credibility through responsiveness, sound judgment, discretion, and strong follow-through
  • Coordinate with clients, attorneys, investment professionals, bankers, and other outside advisors to gather information and keep important tax matters moving forward
  • Help improve tax workflows, documentation, reporting, and client service processes as the organization continues to grow
  • Support special projects involving entity structuring, trust administration, estate-related matters, charitable planning, real estate holdings, investment reporting, and other family-office needs
  • Strong compensation package that includes competitive base salary and bonus opportunity
  • Growth opportunity with a small Group that has large plans
  • Full benefit package and 401k matching
  • Strong Hybrid Capabilities with Nice office in Central AR
  • Normal work life balance with no crazy hours even during busy season

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA designation strongly preferred; candidates actively pursuing CPA licensure may also be considered based on relevant experience
  • Approximately 3-7 years of progressive tax accounting experience in public accounting, private-client tax, family office, wealth management, or a related professional-services environment
  • Comfortable working directly with affluent clients and professional advisors in a polished, responsive, and highly confidential manner
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate technical tax concepts into practical language
  • Experience with tax research tools and professional tax software
  • Strong knowledge and willingness to learn in AI
