Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA (or CPA candidate) preferred, not required.
• 1–4 years of federal/state income tax compliance experience in public accounting or corporate environment.
• Experience supporting a large, complex corporate environment including Fortune 500 or similar.
• Knowledge of U.S. federal and multistate income tax compliance, partnership and LLC taxation, ASC 740.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of the federal consolidated tax return.
• Participate in the implementation and optimization of tax technology platforms and AI-driven solutions.
• Support ongoing transformation efforts in connection with corporate and division initiatives.
• Prepare federal and state partnership and LLC tax returns.
• Prepare and review multistate income and franchise tax returns, including unitary returns.
• Assist with preparation and review of consolidated quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations.
• Assist with IRS and state tax authority audits.
• Assist with quarterly estimated income tax payments.
• Perform tax research and analysis on special projects as needed.
• Identify and implement federal and state tax planning opportunities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of U.S. tax legislation and ASC 740 reporting.

Job Description

UHY is partnering with our client to identify an experienced Senior Tax Accountant for a full-time, direct-hire opportunity in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This role is onsite five days per week and will support an established corporate tax organization within a large, complex enterprise.

The Senior Tax Accountant will support federal and multistate income tax compliance, quarterly and annual ASC 740 provision calculations, tax authority audits, tax research and planning, and ongoing tax transformation initiatives. The role will also participate in the implementation and optimization of tax technology platforms and AI-driven solutions supporting corporate and division initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of the federal consolidated tax return.
• Participate in the implementation and optimization of tax technology platforms and AI-driven solutions.
• Support ongoing transformation efforts in connection with corporate and division initiatives.
• Prepare federal and state partnership and LLC tax returns.
• Prepare and review multistate income and franchise tax returns, including combined/unitary and separate state income tax returns.
• Assist with the preparation and review of the Company's consolidated quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations.
• Assist with IRS and state tax authority audits.
• Assist with the preparation and review of quarterly estimated income tax payments.
• Perform tax research and analysis on special projects as needed.
• Identify and implement federal and state tax planning opportunities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of U.S. federal and state and local tax legislation and U.S. GAAP financial statement reporting requirements for income taxes under ASC 740.

Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA (or CPA candidate) preferred, not required.
• One to four years of federal and state income tax compliance experience obtained in a public accounting or corporate environment.
• Experience supporting a large, complex corporate environment, including Fortune 500 or similarly scaled organizations.
• Working knowledge of U.S. federal and multistate income tax compliance, partnership and LLC taxation, and ASC 740 income tax accounting.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with tax technology platforms such as Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, Corptax, or comparable systems; familiarity with ERP environments such as SAP or Oracle is helpful.
