Job summary

DBN Tax in American Fork, Utah seeks a Senior Tax Accountant to handle a range of individual and business tax engagements, with emphasis on S-Corps and partnerships. You will prepare and review returns, maintain client books in QuickBooks Online, and collaborate with Tax Managers and Partners to meet deadlines.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, 3+ years of tax accounting experience, strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes, CPA license or eligibility, and

About the Role

We're seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to support a range of tax engagements for individuals and closely held businesses, with a strong focus on S-Corporations and Partnerships. This role is hands-on, preparing and reviewing returns of varying complexity while maintaining accurate client books in QuickBooks Online. You'll work directly with clients to gather information, manage timelines, and ensure high-quality, timely filings, with exposure to tax planning and compliance across multiple engagements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review a variety of tax returns, including but not limited to Individual, C-Corp, and S-Corp returns, with minimal to no supervision
  • General accounting and bookkeeping utilizing QuickBooks Online to analyze and clean up client books
  • Assist Tax Managers and Partners in managing client relationships, including understanding client's tax and business needs and gathering required information
  • Research and identify tax issues to best serve clients' needs
  • Collaborate with leadership in coordinating large client engagements, identification of problems and providing solutions
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred (or relevant years of experience)
  • 3+ years of Tax Accounting experience
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Local tax codes and regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in working with staff and clients
  • Active CPA license or CPA eligible (Preferred)
  • Experience with leading tax software (Ultratax) and QuickBooks
