Job summary

STEELGATE LLC is seeking an experienced Tanium Engineer to architect and optimize the Tanium platform across large environments for a defense-focused client. You will lead technical design, integration, and automation within Agile teams using Jira, with a strong emphasis on security, compliance (STIGs/NIST), and incident response.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of hands-on Tanium experience, on-prem and cloud exposure, and Oracle Cloud experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on Tanium experience.
• Experience with on-prem and cloud environments.
• Strong focus on security/compliance (STIGs, NIST, FISMA/RMF).
• Oracle cloud experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Tanium Architecture & Engineering: design, implement, and optimize Tanium infrastructure for large environments.
• Compliance & Security Leadership: lead Tanium-based compliance monitoring and reporting.
• Process Automation & Integration: develop scripts and integrations to automate workflows.
• Technical Guidance & Mentoring: mentor juniors and conduct code reviews.
• Agile Team Leadership: work within Agile teams, manage Jira backlogs.
• Incident Response: advise on major incidents and vulnerability responses.
• Stakeholder Engagement: align system strategy with cybersecurity and IT teams.
