Job summary

The Lockwood Group is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain software for Army tactical network and C5ISR systems at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. You will work with analysts, engineers, and government stakeholders to translate operational requirements into scalable software solutions.

The role emphasizes strong software architecture, structured development, and delivering mission‑critical applications.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree.
Minimum 10 years of relevant software development experience.
Experience analyzing user requirements and developing software architecture solutions.
Experience conducting testing and debugging activities.
Experience developing software documentation and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain software applications supporting engineering and tactical network systems
Analyze user requirements and translate them into software architecture and functional specifications
Develop tools, interfaces, and embedded software components
Design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution applications
Conduct unit, integration, and system-level testing to identify and resolve software defects
Create and maintain technical documentation, including user guides and system specifications
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software functionality, performance, and security across platforms
Identify opportunities for system improvements and implement updates based on user feedback
