Job summary

NVIDIA seeks a Sr. Systems Software Engineer for the Apache Spark Acceleration group in Redmond, WA. You’ll drive GPU-accelerated Spark workloads and build CUDA/C++ libraries to speed DataFrames and I/O on common formats, collaborating across teams.

You will contribute to open source projects, engage with community developers, and help shape infrastructure, CI, and testing strategies while shipping robust multi-platform solutions.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years hands-on data platform development experience.
• BS/MS/PhD in computer science or a related field (or equivalent).
• Proficiency in C++, Java, Scala.
• Experience supporting enterprise customers.

Responsibilities

• Enable C++ native execution of Spark operations on CUDA.
• Develop CUDA/C++ libraries to accelerate DataFrames and I/O on Parquet, ORC, JSON.
• Collaborate with distributed systems teams on large-scale processing challenges.
• Engage with open source communities to enhance RAPIDS, CCCL, UCX.
