Qualifications

• Six (6) years of professional experience with the DoD or Navy in IT security.
• Experience with vulnerability analysis, risk analysis, SCAP scans, STIG implementation, and scanning for viruses.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure, and manage security solutions for Navy IT environments.
• Conduct vulnerability analysis and risk assessments to identify and mitigate threats.
• Perform SCAP scans and implement STIGs to harden systems.
• Execute virus and malware scans ensuring DoD cybersecurity standards compliance.
• Support accreditation and auditing of systems to maintain DoD/Navy security frameworks.
• Troubleshoot security incidents and access control issues to maintain resiliency.
• Provide technical guidance on cybersecurity best practices to IT teams.

Strategic Data Systems (SDS) is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Security Engineer to support a DoN customer. Strategic Data Systems is an experienced technical solutions provider for the Navy, Marine Corps, DoD, and other federal customers. Our mission is to provide exceptional technical capabilities, management, and support to the warfighter.

This role provides technical leadership for security and systems administration, including the design, deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and management of security solutions in alignment with DoD cybersecurity policies and standards.

The ideal candidate possesses expertise in vulnerability analysis, risk assessment, STIG implementation, system accreditation, and audits to ensure secure, compliant IT environments across DoD and Navy systems

Required Qualifications

• Six (6) years of professional experience in relation to IT security with the DoD or Navy. Experience with vulnerability analysis, risk analysis, SCAP scans, DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) implementation, scanning for viruses and other software that is detrimental.
• experience with SIEM tools, endpoint security solutions, and intrusion detection systems
• Qualified experience in accreditation of systems and audits. Conducts and leads TEMPEST testing using approved test plan, the production test procedures and the current National TEMPEST Standard
• This position is required to hold IAM III certifications ( CISM or CISSP)
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field
