Job summary

The Walt Disney Company in Glendale, CA is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to design and operate scalable production systems in a cloud-first environment.

You will implement infrastructure-as-code, automate across the stack, and work with Terraform, Ansible, and container platforms. Strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams are essential to deliver reliable, secure services.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable with public cloud service providers (AWS, Google, Azure).
  • Strong knowledge in system management languages (Terraform, Ansible).
  • OS and systems management knowledge (Amazon Linux, Windows).
  • Multiple scripting languages in your toolbox (Python, Go, Ruby, or Swift).
  • Authentication tool-sets such as Active Directory, LDAP, Ping Identity.
  • Experience with observability tools (DataDog, New Relic, Grafana).
  • Containerization and container PaaS (Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes).
  • CI tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD.

  • Maintain and improve the reliability of services and infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance and reliability issues across the stack, including cloud resources.

You should be intimately familiar with large scale data center infrastructure as well as cloud environments, and as comfortable in the shell as you are in an IDE.   • Systems Security (e.g. key management, encryption, vulnerability management)
  • Containerization and Container PaaS offerings (e.g. Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes)
  • Thorough knowledge of continuous integration tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Github Copilot
  • Experience working in media production environments
  • Passionate to explore new technologies and constantly learn
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Virtual hosting technologies (e.g. VMWare, KVM)
  • Smart, self-driven with a keen focus on exceptional delivery of innovative solutions
Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience

#DISNEYTECH

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $141,900 to $190,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
