Job summary

RG Barry Brands is seeking a Systems Programmer Analyst to join the Information Systems Department in Pickerington, Ohio. You will develop, evaluate, and implement software solutions, and provide technical guidance to other teams.

The role emphasizes reliability, testing plans, and on-call support for critical systems. Applicants should have a BS in Computer Science (or equivalent), at least four years of relevant experience, and strong SQL and Python skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of current, State-of-the-art hardware and software capabilities and techniques.
• High initiative, adaptability, and creativity.
• Ability to effectively provide guidance to others.
• Maintains relationships with system software and hardware vendors for proper service levels.
• Knowledge of project management theories, concepts, and methods.
• Leadership, delegation, and monitoring abilities.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with Exenta ERP, Netsuite Financials, Snowflake, Make.com, and EDI knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implements new systems software and modifications with minimal impact on production and testing.
• Performs work assignments in line with department policies, standards, and practices.
• Maintains and improves skills related to this area of responsibility.
• Assists associates with software problem identification and correction.
• Trains associates in necessary techniques to use software tools effectively.
• Assists supervisory and management associates in drafting standards and practices for software tools.
• Monitors performance and ensures integrity and security of vendor software at all facilities.
• Acts as a knowledge source for problem determination and resolutions.
• Performs all work assignments competently and professionally.
• Prepares project plans and progress reports for management.
• Remains on call during off hours to assist with software failures.
