Responsibilities

• Understand operational needs with stakeholders and reflect them in backlog and development.
• Develop, maintain, and communicate product vision, roadmap, and priorities aligned with objectives.
• Decompose system requirements into capabilities, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Prioritize backlog based on mission priorities, objectives, dependencies, risk, and resources.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, PI planning.
• Collaborate with Software/Systems/Radar Eng., Integration & Test, and other disciplines.
• Coordinate with other Product Owners to manage cross-team dependencies and alignment.
• Support development, integration, testing, and deployment of radar capabilities.
• Analyze issues and propose solutions with engineering teams.
• Track progress, risks, dependencies, and challenges to stakeholders and leadership.
• Develop diagrams/workflows/capability views and recommendations.

Davidson is seeking a Senior Systems Product Owner in Colorado Springs, CO. IMPORTANT LOCATION REQUIREMENT: This position is located at a site that is NOT located on a military base or military installation. This position is an integral part of a fast-paced, mission-focused program supporting the Missile Defense System (MDS) and the development, integration, and sustainment of ground-based radar systems. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with highly skilled Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Radar Engineering, and Program Management teams to deliver capabilities that support complex defense and mission requirements. The candidate should be able to:

• Discuss new and innovative theories, ideas, and concepts related to radar systems, software, and mission capabilities
• Develop and maintain a product vision and roadmap aligned with program objectives and Program Increment (PI) planning
• Work within a diverse, cross-functional Agile/Scrum team
• Assist with decomposing system-level requirements into actionable capabilities, features, and user stories
• Coordinate the development and implementation of software and system changes supporting ground-based radar capabilities
• Understand and communicate technical dependencies across software, hardware, radar, and system engineering disciplines
• Diagram, analyze, and present recommendations to technical and program leadership
• Translate mission and stakeholder needs into clear, actionable product requirements Job Responsibilities:
• Work with government, program, engineering, and mission stakeholders to understand operational needs and ensure those needs are reflected in the product backlog and development process
• Develop, maintain, and communicate the product vision, roadmap, and priorities in alignment with program objectives
• Work with Systems Engineering and technical teams to decompose system requirements into capabilities, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Prioritize the product backlog based on mission priorities, program objectives, technical dependencies, risk, and resource constraints

• 10+ years' experience Agile Product Owner, Systems Engineer, Technical Product Owner, or similar role
• Deep knowledge of job area/domain expertise (ie Radars/Sensors, Ship Systems, System Integration and Test) * significant experience with system integration and test process, tools and techniques
• Experience with Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle
• Experience with MATLAB and DOORS
• Demonstrated Successful Leadership as a Complex System Integration and/or Complex System Test Lead
• Experience developing and presenting technical information/presentations to leaders or customers
• Has expert specialty knowledge in Systems Engineering and Integration/Test of complex, large-scale systems; Provides leadership and guidance to teams
• Desired Competencies:
• Experience supporting the Missile Defense System (MDS), Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), or related defense programs
• Experience with ground-based radar systems or radar-related mission capabilities
• Knowledge of radar systems, sensor systems, command and control, tracking, discrimination, or battle management capabilities
• Background in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Software Development Management
• Experience with system-of-systems engineering and complex technical architectures
• Knowledge of requirements management, system integration, verification, and validation processes
• Experience working with government customers and/or Department of Defense programs
• Experience supporting Program Increment (PI) planning and execution within a SAFe environment
• SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) certification
• PMI-ACP certification or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, DOORS, Cameo, or other requirements/modeling tools
• Ability to interpret and communicate system architecture, interface, and operational concepts
• Experience working in a multi-site engineering organization with geographically distributed teams
• Clearance Requirements:
• Currently hold active DoD Secret Clearance.
