Job summary

Meta is seeking a Software Engineer to design and optimize systems-level ML infrastructure that powers large AI workloads across its production platforms. You will work at the intersection of ML frameworks, distributed systems, and hardware acceleration to boost reliability, performance, and scalability of ML platforms powering social media, AR/VR, and generative AI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, CE or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years in software engineering focused on systems software, ML infrastructure, or distributed computing.
• Experience designing and optimizing software for large-scale ML training or inference workloads.
• Experience with performance analysis, profiling, bottleneck identification and low-level tuning.
• Experience building reliable, production-grade distributed systems with observability, monitoring, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable systems-level software for large-scale ML workloads across distributed compute.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in ML pipelines via profiling and optimization of compute, memory, and I/O.
• Develop and maintain high-quality, well-tested ML runtime software including scheduling and execution frameworks.
• Collaborate with AI researchers and hardware teams to map DL models onto accelerated hardware.
• Own technical designs, evaluate trade-offs for correctness, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Define and monitor SLAs and performance metrics; build dashboards and runbooks to reduce MTTR.
