Job summary

Freenome Brisbane, California is hiring a Senior Systems Integration Engineer to lead and contribute hands-on to the development of next generation NGS assays for early cancer detection. You will join a Product Development team of world-class Scientists and Engineers focused on Freenome’s IVD portfolio, reporting to the Senior Manager, Systems Integration, onsite at Brisbane headquarters.

The role requires independent study design, validation planning, and collaboration with Development, SW Test

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant work experience, or higher degrees.
• Education in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields.
• Experience with developing, integrating, or evaluating NGS assays and automated workflows.
• Experience in regulated product development (IVD/medical devices).
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex technical projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end assay workflows and validation activities.
• Define study scope, validation strategies, success criteria, and execution plans.
• Coordinate with Development, SW Test Engineering, Automation, and SLIMS to align test coverage and deployment derisking.
• Drive the System Reliability program with cross-functional teams and mitigation actions.
• Analyze system performance, identify roadblocks, and implement scalable solutions.
• Author system-level requirements, test strategies, and design history documentation.
• Mentor SI engineers in study design, testing, and documentation.
