Job summary

Fantom Corporation seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to design, administer, and maintain secure Windows and Linux server environments for enterprise applications. You will manage SQL Server, ADCS, Hyper‑V, and virtualization infrastructure while supporting A&A activities for security‑controlled systems.

The role includes administering Windows Server environments, backup/recovery solutions, and storage systems such as NetApp SANs.

Qualifications

  • Must have a current polygraph clearance.
  • Willing and able to work fully onsite at the location.
  • Demonstrated experience with Windows systems engineering and administration.
  • Experience administering: Microsoft SQL Server, Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS), Hyper‑V virtual environments, virtual machine clusters, Microsoft Data Protection Manager, PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience supporting Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes for security‑controlled systems.
  • Experienced in administering Linux operating systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills for enterprise infrastructure.
  • Experience in secure government or enterprise IT environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support A&A activities, including accreditation documentation and compliance requirements.

  • Develop and maintain PowerShell automation scripts to improve efficiency.
  • Manage enterprise certificate services for users, servers, and service accounts.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Windows Group Policy, WSUS, and security settings.
  • Administer virtualization platforms including Hyper‑V and VMware.
  • Support secure data transfers and safeguard security‑controlled environments.
  • Administer and maintain NetApp SANs and storage solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and operations to maintain secure, highly available infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, OS, virtualization, and storage issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and operation procedures.
  • Cross‑train team members and provide mentorship as needed.
  • Support IT program management and enterprise infrastructure initiatives.

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the administration, accreditation, and sustainment of secure enterprise infrastructure supporting mission‑critical systems. This role is responsible for Windows and Linux systems engineering, virtualization, security‑controlled environments, certificate management, storage administration, and Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities. The ideal candidate has extensive experience supporting secure enterprise Windows environments, virtualization platforms, Active Directory infrastructure, and security accreditation processes within highly secure government environments.

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Database Administrator certification
