Job summary

VTG is seeking a RF Systems Engineer with DSP algorithms expertise to join a mission-focused team in Hanover, MD on a hybrid schedule (two days remote weekly). The role supports national security initiatives, involving RF processing systems and dataflow management.

Requirements include a US Citizenship with TS/SCI clearance, 7+ years in DSP algorithm development, and strong skills in C++, Linux, and Python. Sign-on bonus up to $10,000 is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS or related field with DSP algorithms focus.
• 7+ years of DSP algorithm development on projects with similar software processes.
• Active TS/SCI with Poly clearance preferred; DoD 8570/IAT II certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop DSP algorithms for RF processing systems and explain designs to stakeholders.
• Work with RF systems dataflow, from analog to digital conversion processes.
• Access Nifi for inbound data flow and ensure operational streams.
• Coordinate data samples and manage data formatting issues for customers.
• Create and update RF antenna drawings and network diagrams.
• Document dataflow diagrams showing network connections required for system functionality.
• Maintain Confluence/Jira for communication and documentation.

Overview VTG is a patriotic DSP Algorithms RF Systems Engineer to join our team in Hanover, MD. This position will support a mission-focused customer developing, deploying, and maintaining Radio Frequency processing systems. This is a HYBRID position with two days remote each week and flexible schedules. What will you do?

• Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) systems with understanding of analog to digital dataflow and conversion processes
• Access production Nifi and ensure that inbound data is operational/flowing correctly.
• Data management requests (DMRs) and change (DCRs) submissions.
• Preliminary system design with capability to explain system design to stakeholders
• Coordinate any data samples needed.
• Prior experience with requesting IPs be added to System Security Plans
• Ensure there are no backlogs/errors of data. Assist customers with data formatting issues.
• Experience with creating and updating engineering and RF antenna drawings and network diagrams
• Capable of creating dataflow diagrams documenting the network connections required for system functionality
• Experience with Confluence/Jira used for communication and documentation

Do you have what it takes?

• US Citizen with TS/SCI with Poly clearance required
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline is DSP Algorithms from an accredited college or university
• Seven (7) years of experience as a DSP Algorithm developer on projects with similar software processes
• Seven (7) years of experience with C++, Linux, Python, or similar development language
• Four (4) years of Radio Frequency Software or equivalent experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. May substitute two (2) years of experience with Master's of Science in Engineering or Computer Science
• Active IAT II CWIP / DoD 8570 compliant certification (i.e., Security+) preferred
• VTG's estimated starting pay range is $170,000-$150,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range
