ASEC, Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in NAS Patuxent River, MD, to provide end-to-end systems engineering for the Direct and Time Sensitive Strike Weapons Program Office (PMA-242).

The role requires collaboration with fleet, program management, test, and industry partners to advance DoD capabilities. Required is a strong background in requirements, integration, and lifecycle engineering for complex weapon systems, with DoD experience and a DoD Secret clearance preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline required.
• 8+ years of systems engineering experience with complex DoD/aerospace systems.
• Experience with systems engineering processes: requirements development, integration, reviews, risk management, configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Lead SETRs, requirements development, system architecture, risk management, and configuration management activities.
• Conduct gap analyses to deliver traceable capability requirements for current and future weapons roadmaps.
• Guide requirements definition, capability roadmapping, and integration planning for emerging DoD strike weapons.
• Coordinate with test communities, intelligence, program offices, NAVAIR, industry partners, and fleet/combat air forces.
• Lead risk assessment for aircraft and system-of-systems integration.
• Serve as primary technical interface with fleet users, sponsors, contractors, PMAs, safety boards, and joint partners.

What You'll Do:

As the Senior Systems Engineer, you will provide systems engineering expertise to NAVAIR's Direct and Time Sensitive Strike Weapons Program Office (PMA-242). You will support systems engineering, requirements development, systems integration, technical reviews, risk management, and lifecycle engineering activities for complex weapon systems and related capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with engineering, program management, test, fleet, and industry stakeholders to support the development and integration of advanced DoD capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs), requirements development, system architecture, risk management, and configuration management activities.


• Conduct gap analyses aligned with warfighter needs to deliver traceable capability requirements for current and future weapons roadmaps.


• Guide requirements definition, capability roadmapping, and integration planning for emerging DoD strike weapons.


• Coordinate with developmental and operational test communities, intelligence organizations, program offices, NAVAIR, JPO, industry partners, and fleet/combat air forces.


• Lead risk assessment activities related to aircraft and system-of-systems integration.


• Serve as a primary technical interface with fleet users, OPNAV sponsors, contractors, platform PMAs, weapons safety boards, and joint service partners.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline.


• 8+ years of systems engineering experience supporting complex systems, preferably within the DoD, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated environments.


• Demonstrated experience with systems engineering processes, including requirements development, systems integration, technical reviews, risk management, and/or configuration management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting weapons systems, aircraft systems, or other complex military systems.


• Experience with DoD acquisition programs and familiarity with DoD 5000-series guidance.


• Experience with NAVAIR, Navy, Marine Corps, or other DoD programs.


• Familiarity with MIL-STD environments, aircraft/weapon integration, or systems certification processes.

Security Clearance Requirement:

• This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary Range:

• The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $170,000 - $185,000, commensurate with an individual’s experience, qualifications, and skill set. ASEC is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation.
