Job summary

Peraton is seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer in Maryland to support national security programs. The role requires leading SE efforts, designing dataflows, and coordinating with the Data Distribution Service.

The ideal candidate holds 20+ years of SE expertise, an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, and a relevant bachelor’s degree. You will work on Datarunner integrations and production dataflows across multiple customers.

Qualifications

• Twenty (20) years of experience as a Systems Engineer (SE) supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Demonstrated experience planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph is required.

Responsibilities

• Support the services provided by the Datarunner project, integrating Datarunner rules into test and production dataflows.
• Assist and manage high level requirements and solution development for dataflow design and rule development.
• Expand data types and sources and support expanded customers with high level dataflow design.
• Interact with corporate Data Distribution Service for added customers.

Job description

Highly Desired Qualifications

• Experience with Mission Systems.
• Experience with Datarunner.
• Experience working with mission data formats.
• Experience with Apache NiFi functionality and building DataFlows is desired.
• Experience creating Systems Architectural Diagrams depicting software and system functions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently.
• Experience with JIRA ticket creation and scheduling tools.
• Experience with Agile sprint planning, retrospectives, ticket creation, labeling, and version management. Ability to establish clear goals for each sprint.
• Experience testing major releases with NiFi and other customers and producing and distributing release notes for all versions.
• Experience guiding and assisting the test team, reviewing tickets ready for testing, and closing tickets and sprints.
• Experience monitoring production systems and troubleshooting issues as needed.

The Datarunner project is currently seeking a Systems Engineer who can support the services provided by Datarunner. The team engineer would support on-going integration of Datarunner rules into test and production dataflows as well as provide assistance and manage high level requirements and solution development. This includes support for expansion of additional data types and sources and expanded customers that would need high level dataflow design and rule development. The interaction with corporate Data Distribution Service will continue with added customers.
