Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. in Colorado Springs is seeking a Systems Engineer / Project Technical Lead to oversee SATCOM and Space Ground System projects.

You will guide multi-disciplinary teams through the full engineering lifecycle from contract award to system acceptance and post-delivery support. The role emphasizes requirements analysis, architecture, verification, test planning, and customer communication.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related STEM degree.
• 5+ years relevant work experience.
• Strong understanding of signal processing, digital communications theory, and network communications.
• C++ programming experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication and ability to interact with customers.
• Willing to travel up to 20% CONUS.

Responsibilities

• Requirements analysis, decomposition, and customer interaction.
• Architecture/System/Hardware/Firmware/Software design development and maturation.
• Support verification and troubleshooting of solutions.
• Lead or support acceptance test planning and execution.
• Communicate technical concepts to customer, users, and team.
• Define, scope, and refine project schedule; identify risks.
• Maintain technical project responsibility and status reporting.
• Support business development for satellite products.
• Represent company as technical advisor in high-level meetings.
• Prepare technical papers and engineering studies.
• Mentor less experienced engineers.
