Job summary

Valkyrie Enterprises Inc. in Huntsville, AL seeks a System Assessment Senior Systems Engineer to coordinate ground tests, assess performance, and guide system fielding decisions within the MDA System Assessment Directorate.

Experience with missile defense elements and secure development practices is critical. The role requires exceptional technical briefing skills for senior leaders, cross-team collaboration, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM required; 12+ years of relevant systems engineering or technical experience for missile defense programs.
• Understanding of MDA systems engineering processes and procedures.
• Understanding of system architecture and HWIL framework.
• Experience with MDA system elements (e.g., Patriot, THAAD, Aegis, C2BMC).
• Familiarity with secure development practices and configuration management.
• Ability to operate independently and communicate across diverse technical teams.
• Ability to work in fast-paced/short-timeline environments.
• MS Office Suite proficiency (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project).
• Skilled in developing and delivering technical briefings to senior decision-makers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and communicate assessment requirements for Ground and HWIL Testing to evaluate MDS capabilities and performance.
• Coordinate with MDA, non-MDA partners, and COCOM stakeholders to plan ground tests and realistic scenarios.
• Define technical data needs and provide evidence for system fielding decisions.
• Establish threat requirements with Threat Management Center for high-fidelity modeling and simulation.
• Track and integrate element software deliveries to support test readiness and execution.
• Plan, schedule, and synchronize element participation with Test Group for seamless test integration.
• Participate in technical milestones to validate accuracy and readiness; lead or support meetings and tracking.
• Prepare executive briefings, technical papers, and formal correspondence for senior leaders (Flag/SES).
• Represent Government customer in IPTs and senior technical forums to align with MDA objectives.
