Applied Materials, Inc. is seeking a senior Systems Engineer IV to own end-to-end system engineering for semiconductor capital equipment subsystems. You will lead cross-functional teams to deliver high‑reliability, field‑ready systems and drive critical design decisions.

The role focuses on NPI, issue resolution, and ongoing reliability improvements, collaborating with manufacturing, supply chain, and customer engineering to ensure quality and uptime in world-class fabs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Systems, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering.
• 8+ years of systems engineering or semiconductor capital equipment experience.
• Strong background in complex electro-mechanical systems and integration.
• Proven ability to lead root cause investigations and reliability improvements.
• Ability to work independently on ambiguous, high-impact problems.

Responsibilities

• Own system-level requirements, architecture, and performance for subsystems.
• Lead system integration, trade studies, and design reviews with cross-functional teams.
• Drive technical decision-making across teams and influence without authority.
