Job summary

Bridge Defense in Dayton, OH seeks a System Engineer to design, implement, and sustain architectures for applications, services, microservices, PaaS, and supporting infrastructure. You will shape patterns and standards with customers and teams to meet mission needs while reducing tech debt.

The role integrates intelligence analysis and collection-management workflows, collaborating with government and engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph (Within the past 5 years).
• DoD 8570 compliance at IAT/IAM Level 2.
• Experience on a DoD/DIA DevSecOps development team.
• Strong experience designing architectures with microservices, containers, APIs, and PaaS.
• Hands-on with modern web/service tech (Angular, Node.js, Java, .NET).
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and data services.
• Knowledge of AWS/Azure or equivalent cloud environments, networking, IAM, and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep).
• CI/CD pipelines and security-by-design principles; zero-trust concepts.
• Ability to communicate complex architectural concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain end-to-end system architectures for complex software and data systems based on requirements and mission objectives.
• Provide input on system design, including hardware/software trade-offs and integration of COTS/GOTS products.
• Design, implement, and integrate software and infrastructure components using microservices, API-centric, and cloud-native approaches.
• Apply systems, software, and architecture methodologies to development, integration, and production environments.
• Ensure delivery using industry standards and repeatable processes aligned with architectures and baselines.
• Identify risks, manage cost/schedule, and support modernization and cloud/hybrid migrations.
• Review and test components for adherence to architecture requirements; participate in design/code/integration readiness reviews.
• Contribute to DevSecOps practices across all design, development, and deployment phases.
