Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers company, is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to support finance-related systems for a complex medical device in Palo Alto, CA. You will manage subsystems, define component requirements, and collaborate with a broad team to ensure deliverables are met.

The role requires strong electrical engineering fundamentals, experience with complex systems, and excellent written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• BS +10 years or MS +8 years in Electrical/Systems Engineering.
• Experience with complex systems including off‑the‑shelf and customized electrical components.
• Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals.
• Experience writing test procedures and performing design verification.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex subsystems, ensuring subsystem deliverables are met, including defining requirements and completing reviews and verification tests.
• Define specifications for custom electrical modules and components.
• Find and work with vendors capable of sourcing off‑the‑shelf and custom components.
• Collaborate with electrical, software and mechanical teams during subsystem integration.
• Write technical documentation including requirements, descriptions and test methods.
