Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Specialist, Systems Engineer to join our team in Millersville, MD or Herndon, VA on-site. You will define hardware/software requirements, decompose and allocate system components, and verify designs while interfacing with customers and internal teams.

The role requires MBSE proficiency, DOORS experience, and strong communication skills. Eligible candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance and travel up to 15% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent with 6+ years of experience, or graduate degree with 4+ years.
• 2+ years in systems engineering and government program lifecycle.
• 1+ year with MIL-STD-499, EIA-632, IEEE 1220 or IEEE/ISO/IEC 15288.
• 1+ year with DOORs and MBSE.

Responsibilities

• Review program objectives, system concept of operation, interfaces and operations.
• Define, flow-down and trace requirements for complex electronic systems using MBSE.
• Create system specifications, interface definitions and detailed designs.
• Develop and coordinate engineering artifacts for design reviews.
• Support cost, schedule, and technical aspects of SE execution.
• Communicate status and results with program and customers.
